Maggie Holtzberg received her Ph.D. in Folklore and Folklife from the University of Pennsylvania. She recently joined the Massachusetts Cultural Council as Manager of the Folk Arts and Heritage Program, where she is building an ambitious program to better serve the folk and traditional arts through documentary fieldwork, grant programs and technical assistance. Ms. Holtzberg was previously Director of the Georgia Council for the Arts Folklife Program. She is the author of "The Lost World of the Craft Printer" (1992), "Portrait of Spirit: One Story at a Time" (1996), producer of the sound recording Georgia Folk: A Sampler of Traditional Sound (1990), and co-director/producer of the documentary film Gandy Dancers (1994).
